'THE NEW AVENGERS' - 'CAT AMONGST THE PIGEONS' (1976)

One of her earliest and finest stocking displays as Purdey in The New Avengers was in this episode, brown stockings with a lovely orange garter belt adding to the sexy aura of the actress and her character. It was a true delight to see those stocking legs in high-kicking action here.

THE STRIPTEASE - 'CHILDREN IN NEED' EVENT (1983)

Probably the most well remembered moment in British TV charity fundraising ever, as Joanna Lumley did a playful striptease down to basque and stockings for CHILDREN IN NEED in the eighties. I'm sure much cash was raised, and generating many erect male members then and now!

IN STOCKINGS FOR "KENNY EVERETT" (80'S)

Joanna loves acting, but she also loves comedy, so any chance for her to do both in the eighties was all for the better. And if included her in stockings and lingerie, then ever better, as seen in this late eighties comedy sketch (set in a science lab) for the fun and very naughty BBC series THE KENNY EVERETT TELEVISION SHOW.

BACK IN STOCKINGS - 1990 UK STAGE ROLE

Sadly I was out of the UK in 1990 when this happened, but Joanna returned to basque and stockings, live on stage for men to enjoy, for a play based on the life of Phillipines former dictator Imelda Marcos. If anyone has more info/photos of her in the play, and what it was like to experience her, please get in touch.

With her new look hairstyle and name, two more posed photo shoots of Joanna as Purdey were initiated by 1976 filming- this one, of her in black stockings, was a standout. Sadly, I don't remember her ever wearing this outfit, or the seductive black stockings, in the actual series...
